About me
Master of Science | Advanced Commercial Skipper |  Marine Mammal Observer | Marine Mammal Medic | Wilderness First Aid | Advanced Open Water Diver | Dinghy Instructor
I am a marine biologist, educator and commercial skipper, with a strong passion for marine mammal research and conservation. I strongly believe it is my professional and personal responsibility to apply my knowledge and skills to contribute to global conservation.
"I studied at the University of Southampton and National Oceanography Centre between 2012 and 2016, graduating with a Master of Science in Marine Biology"
Working on the water for over 10 years has allowed me to observe a wide variety of marine life in their natural environment. During this time, marine pollution grabbed my attention and as a culmination of my experiences to date, I have created and implemented multiple ocean awareness programmes including public talks, local beach cleans and film screenings. Growing up on the east coast of Scotland, I spent a lot of time on the water, which led to working as a sailing instructor when I turned 16. It was this practical skill set that landed me my first marine conservation role for a wildlife tour boat company, which contributed to on going marine mammal research in the Moray Firth.

I studied at the University of Southampton and National Oceanography Centre between 2012 and 2016, graduating with a Master of Science in Marine Biology. During that time, I also gained certifications as an advanced commercial skipper, marine mammal observer, advanced diver and first aider. Upon the completion of my Master’s, I worked globally with marine mammal research and guiding, in areas including the Polar regions, New Zealand, Canada, UK and South Africa.
